The Covid-19 pandemic changed the way we lived and worked. It changed everything. The restaurant industry was one of the hardest hit by the pandemic. Most were forced to close their dining rooms. Some were able to survive on take-out and delivery, but others weren't so lucky. For one Southern Oregon community, the situation was compounded by a devastating wildfire that ripped through the towns of Talent and Phoenix, destroying nearly 3,500 homes and businesses. The Almeda Fire created a new set of challenges for this tight-knit community.

Soon after the fire, local restaurants jumped into action to help. These are their stories.
